Esperanza Publishing is a nonprofit company that accepts strong young adult fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. We seek to publish works that impact readers and challenge various perspectives.
Based out of the Mexican-American border region of the Rio Grande Valley, TX, Esperanza Publishing is in an optimal position to print and promote diverse voices in YA literature.
Mark Esperanza, MFA, is a writer from Edcouch-Elsa of the Rio Grande Valley. He currently lives in Edinburg, TX, and is a professor at UTRGV Harlingen Collegiate High School in Harlingen, TX. Esperanza has published poetry, short stories, and educational research in multiple anthologies and collections.
Kari Francine holds a Bachelors of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from Michigan State University. She is the CEO of Kari Francine Editing Services and teaches English Languages Arts at IDEA Mays Public Schools in San Antonio, TX.
Marco Zavala is a surrealist illustrator and has worked with exhibits the Bath House Cultural Center in Dallas, TX, the Arlington Museum of Art, and the Dallas Museum of Art. Zavala is a resident artist with the Denton art collective called Spiderweb Salon and has collaborated with poets, writers, & musicians for different projects since 2017.
